Here’s just a little post to say thanks to all my readers!
2025 was certainly one of the years of all time for k-pop, and you’ll find out all about the quality of this year shortly when the favourites list and worst of k-pop lists get released! In the meantime, Kpopalypse.com is still going strong! We’re in our thirteenth year of the site now, which is a number lucky for some!
In 2025 Kpopalypse roundup remained enduringly popular, but as readers will know this site isn’t really about popularity (if it was, I think the wisest business move in 2025 would be to turn it into a Kpop Demon Hunters tribute site.) But 2025 was certainly the year that Kpopalypse started reviewing more things, just because it’s definitely what my readers want and I do just simply enjoy giving you content that you actually like. Album reviews, book reviews, movie reviews, reviews of your biases’ problematic behaviour, we seem to be gradually transforming into a review site, and that’s not a bad thing!
Of course I’ll still keep up with other content whenever it suits, so you can expect more of the usual caonimaish stuff going forward as well, when I have time. I’ve also added a new string to my bow, and have started making some long-form narrative videos. I hope you’ve enjoyed these and I’ll continue to do more of them in the future as and when I see fit! However I’m not going to transition full-time into a “YouTuber”, they’re very time-consuming to make and I want the video content to be an occasional fun/educational diversion, not the main event, so these won’t appear all that often. Other new developments include a revamped ask-short-questions site thanks to elite caonima az5he6ch! After years of bouncing around on all sorts of other anonymous ask sites, we finally have a place with no censorship, no ads, no bullshit (apart from my bullshit replies of course) and that isn’t likely to go down anytime soon! It actually functions significantly better than any other ask site I’ve been on before. Of course for those big, longer replies where you actually want an answer that I’ve put at least a minute of thought into, QRIMOLE is best… but as we know sometimes the month wait is too long. Also, I have to give a shout out to Lissa Caonima who is doing a great job of helping me annoy others with her TikTok fan page and bringing me a whole new audience in the process, please support her if you’re someone who Tiks the Toks!
For those wondering, the new Kpopalypse book is still being written, it’s currently in its final stages of the first draft. I did intend to release it in 2025 but I decided to slow down the writing process, partly to ensure that the book would cause maximum offense and trauma happiness and warm fuzzy feelings, and partly because releasing books costs money whereas working makes money and I’ve been pretty poor this year thanks to some issues that are not at all related to this site so I’ve had to prioritise the latter. Looking forward to a more prosperous 2026!

Whether you buy the books I write, support me on Ko-fi or Patreon, or do none of that stuff but just like to read my drivel from time to time, I appreciate all of you! Kpopalypse.com carries no advertising and also advertises nowhere else, so that means that if you’re here and reading this right now, it’s because you want to be! That’s the way it should be, I’m not interested in forcing anyone to read my content, I’m just here doing my thing and hopefully it helps some of you out as well or resonates with you or entertains you in some way.
