Gospel: John 10:27-30
My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.’
Reflection:
Our gospel for today is very short yet very important and this is from John 10:27-30. As Jesus said:
“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they must never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”
There are two important things to remember in this message from Jesus in John 10:27-30. These are “sheep” and “Father”. Now, who are the sheep in the gospel from John 10:27-30?
Simple as it is, the sheep means the people. We are the people of God whom He meant in the gospel from John 10:27-30. If we are the sheep then the “Father” is our shepherd who always take care of us that no one will vanish from His sight.
“I and the Father are one” means Jesus ascending to heaven reunited with the Father and looks upon us His people. Jesus is our protector and Shepherd. He guards, guides, feeds and protects us from everything. He is there to see us from the dangers of life and defends us from anyone who tries to take us away from him.
“For God so love the world, that He gave His son. Whosoever would believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.“ This is the greatest miracle of being born in the world. Even though we did not see God in person but we hear His voice calling for us to become like Him. Those who hear His voice through His miracles will always live in the presence and blessings of God. This is what John 10:27-30 is telling us.
So, my dear brothers and sisters in God let us mark today as our infinite blessing from God. That blessing has no ending and no end and it will go on for all eternity. – Clea | Helpline PH
