1,000 World Teachers’ Day Incentive is unrewarding – Teachers’ Group
The Alliance of Concerned Teachers slammed the Department of Education’s announcement of P1,000 World Teachers’ Day Incentive, saying that it is unrewarding.
Quetua said that teachers need more importance measures to address their overworked, underpaid and under supported conditions.
“Our teachers need to be alleviated from overwork through hiring education support personnel to free them of administrative duties, and employing more teachers to ease our teaching overload,” he said.
“All of these are possible if the government will give education the funds and attention it deserves. By doubling the current education budget, teachers’ conditions can be uplifted and education recovery can be propelled,” he added.
