Give unused laptops, tablets to teachers and students – Teachers’ Group to DICT

The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) urged the Department of Information and Communication Technology(DICT) to give unused laptops and tablets to teachers and students to aid the deficiency in devices for education.

ACT Chairman Vladimer Quetua said that the 866 laptops and 12,482 tablets could help teachers and students improve teaching and learning delivery.

He said that the government was remiss in giving teachers with laptops, based on their survey in April 2021.

There were also teachers who reported they have no laptop to use for teaching and other duties.

Quetua also asked the national government to ease the teachers’ burden of out-of-pocket expenses by giving them with necessary and up-to-date resources to deliver learning to students.
