DepEd: No money should be collected from parents during Brigada Eskwela

The Department of Education reiterated that no money should be collected from parents or stakeholders during Brigada Eskwela.

This is DepEd’s response to reports that some teachers are allegedly soliciting materials like paint to repair classrooms ahead of the resumption of face-to-face classes on August 22.

“School heads are reminded that in the implementation of 2022 Brigada Eskwela (BE), no fee shall be collected from parents/guardians or solicited from other volunteers and stakeholders, based on DepEd Order No. 062, s. 2022,” DepEd said in a statement.

DepEd said that Brigada Eskwela will address the learning resource gaps for teachers and students.

“Brigada Eskwela is anchored on the spirit of ‘bayanihan’ and has been the prime mover of volunteerism and community involvement in the DepEd,” it added.
