DepEd called to give teachers special risk allowance
Marikina 2nd District Rep. Stella Luz Quimbo urged the Department of Education to give Covid19 special risk allowance for teachers who will take part in face-to-face classes.
This is despite the statement of DepEd that no budget was allocated for the provision of additional risk allowances for teachers.
The lawmaker also asked that teachers be given priority in the administration of booster jabs against Covid19.
Quimbo said that teachers are frontliners in the education sector, thus all measures should be taken to protect their welfare.
She added that teachers face risks because not all students are vaccinated.
