Today’s Gospel Reflection: John 16:12-15

Gospel: John 16:12-15

Jesus said to his disciples:
“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,
he will guide you to all truth.
He will not speak on his own,
but he will speak what he hears,
and will declare to you the things that are coming.
He will glorify me,
because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
Everything that the Father has is mine;
for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine
and declare it to you.”

Reflection:

Today’s gospel is from John 16:12-15. “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.’ This is what Jesus said to His disciples. Each one of us will someday somehow come face to face with the truth. The gospel in John 16:12-15 tells us that if we seek the Spirit of Truth, we will see what we should do next.

The gospel from John 16:12-15 reminds us that everything we are learning comes from the Father. From the Father through the Son and the Son through the Spirit. The Holy Trinity all come together and reveals to us the true message of salvation.

We must always remember that as individuals we need the constant guidance of the Holy Spirit. We should always ask for the grace to remain faithful to the truth. In John 16:12-15, the Spirit of Truth comes in glory. We need time to understand is telling us. We must always feel the gentle presence of God around us.

We are still talking about the same Holy Spirit that is always guiding us wherever we go. After reading this, do you understand the true meaning of the gospel? Have you consider assessing yourself if you did the right things before?

As loyal believers of Christ, we must not close our hearts and minds for the true salvation. We must repent and ask for forgiveness from above. This life we have is changing and we are uncertain of the things that may come to us. – Clea | Helpline PH
