Today’s Gospel Reflection: John 14:23-29

Gospel: John 14:23-29

Jesus answered him, ‘Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; and the word that you hear is not mine, but is from the Father who sent me.

‘I have said these things to you while I am still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, “I am going away, and I am coming to you.” If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur, you may believe.

John 14:23-29

Reflection:

The gospel for today is from John 14:23-29 which focus on the “love of God“. If we love Jesus, everybody will know it because it will show on our actions and words. It means that God is our center of everything.

God lives in us and within us and He should live in our hearts to eternity. It is the Holy Trinity that is within us and it is amazing to know that we have peace in our hearts. The gospel from John 14:23-29 tells us the effect of God’s presence in our lives.

The gospel from John 14:23-29 is a reminder for us to always have God in our hearts. Jesus told his disciples before His death many times that He loved them. It is not a secret that Jesus showed His love to His disciples many times.

Isn’t it amazing to feel the warm of God’s love running through our lives? Everyday when we wake up is another great blessing to be thankful of. The gospel in John 14:23-29 never fails to remind us how lucky we are to have Jesus, our God and savior.

Now, if we look close and imagine what has become of us if Jesus never loved us, it is frustrating. Yet, because we know Jesus always cared for us even if we are sinners we are happy. Nobody can ever love us more than God do. Not even our families and friends have the greatest love as God have for us.

Prayer of the People:

Lord God, in these times of modern turmoil please send us your Holy Spirit to be with us. We are afraid that we commit the same mistakes as before, but your Holy presence will make us strong. We need your constant guidance no matter what we are going through. Amen. – Clea | Helpline PH
