A very intelligent person – Briones on Sara Duterte
Education Secretary Leonor Briones is confident with the capability of Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio to lead the education department.

“I go by her public declaration that whatever programs there are, she will study them and of course, she will carefully consider whether she will recommend them to the new president. And it’s very likely that she will because the outgoing president is her father,” Briones said.
“She is basically a very intelligent person. She will bring her own perspective. She is her own person,” she added.
Briones said that Duterte-Carpio will be able to take in the programs of the department.
“She is very concerned about citizenship, about loyalty to the country beyond the usual academics. So she is not really a complete stranger,” she said.
Briones also trusts that President-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos will take the best care of the education department.
