600K DepEd personnel to serve for May 9 polls
600,000 Department of Education personnel will serve during the 2022 elections, DepEd official said.
DepEd Director Marcelo Bragado Jr. of the procurement management service said the number of DepEd personnel in the 2022 elections increased from the election in 2019.
“We are looking at a figure of more or less 600,000 DepEd personnel who will work with the Comelec (Commission on Elections) in this election,” Bragado said.
“This 2022 elections, because of the increase in the number of registered voters, the Comelec increased the number of clustered precincts. So we have 106,000 clustered precincts,” he explained.
According to Bragado, a total of 319,317 teachers will serve as members of electoral boards while the rest are non-teaching DepEd personnel who will serve as supervising officials, support and technical support staff as well as boards of canvassers.
