The best-selling indie game from Digital Sun Games, Moonlighter, has made its way to Android with the Philippines and Canada being the first to experience it. The studio has announced the game’s soft launch in these two countries with the rest of the world to follow at a later date.
Delivering a “console-like, premium experience”, Moonlighter features various action-RPG elements like crafting and enhancement, collecting loot, and even some combat. Players are transported to a small village called Rynoka and take control of the humble shopkeeper Will. As Will goes about his routines, players will discover his adventurous nature and help him live his secret dreams of being a hero.
Moonlighter features adorable pixel art graphics and familiar gameplay controls. Apart from its RPG elements, there’s a bit of life simulation as well as players have to manage Will’s shop by putting items on sale, setting their prices, recruiting assistants, and upgrading the shop. There are also both friendly and hostile companions that can either damage or help Will on his journey by bringing items or restoring life.
Finishing the game unlocks New Game+ that offers additional challenges, weapons, and options for a different playthrough experience.
Moonlighter is already available for PC ($19.99), XBOX One ($19.99), PlayStation 4 ($19.99), Nintendo Switch ($24.99), and on the Apple App Store ($10.99).
