The much-awaited refresh of the Windows experience is just around the corner. Announced on the official blog, Microsoft details that the Windows 11 update will start rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs (like the ASUS Zenbook 14).
In addition to that, PCs pre-loaded with Windows 11 will also start hitting consumer markets. The update will officially arrive this October 5.
One of the main highlights of the new Windows 11 experience includes a redesign of the interface to a more modern and fresh look that will supposedly bring “a sense of calm and ease.”
Windows 11 will now offer seamless integration to various Microsoft services as well. With Start, for example, users will be able to access their files on the cloud or Microsoft 365 and can do so on different devices. Chat from Microsoft Teams will now be integrated into the taskbar and new organizational features such as Snap Layouts and Snap Groups will also be available.
Debuting on Windows 11 will be a new Widgets feature that offers a new personalized AI-powered feed to help users keep updated on the latest news that is most relevant to them.
In terms of performance, Windows 11 is designed to adapt to the hybrid lifestyle and is optimized for speed and efficiency. Touch and digital pen, and voice inputs have also been improved. For a better gaming experience, Windows 11 offers DirectX12 Ultimate, DirectStorage, and Auto HDR. A new Microsoft Store will also debut with an all-new design and has been optimized with better search features.
