What Happened: In April, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order Friday banning the use of Covid-19 passports in the state. Now, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey on signed a bill into law on Monday doing the same thing. Ivey said that she supports the vaccine and encourages all citizens to receive one, as she did, but freedom of choice will remain as well as medical, religions and philosophical exemptions for children who may be required to vaccinate to attend public schools.
The bill also blocks the ability of businesses from putting any such measures, like proof of vaccination documentation into place.
Why This Is Important: You may not know about it if your only source of information is mainstream media, but a plethora of doctors, scientists and renowned infectious disease experts have been condemning the idea of vaccine passports for quite some time, and there are multiple reasons. The main reason is that a vaccine isn’t required to end this pandemic, it makes no sense from a scientific standpoint. I recently published an article that goes in depth into the science that’s now emerging showing that even a mild COVID infection can provide immunity that may last a lifetime. Although numbers from testing show nearly two hundred million have had the virus, the scientific consensus is that this number is much higher and perhaps well over one billion. Not only does this suggest natural immunity is taking its course, it’s also the reason why the survival rate for people under the age of 70 is quite high.
It’s no secret that vaccine hesitancy is and has been on the rise, even among many physicians, especially with regards to the COVID vaccine. If you’d like to read more about why this is the case, I recently published an article on that which goes much more in depth. It singles out the top four reasons why so many people, doctors and scientists are hesitant about taking the vaccine.
These measures also bring into play the push for the digitization of information, which in turn brings into play many privacy issues. Privacy is something that seems to be rapidly disappearing on a daily basis.
The Takeaway: At the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves why there has been such a large effort from governments and big tech to silence the voice of those who disagree with measures that governments desire to take. It’s fine to encourage and recommend people take the vaccine, but when authorities start to take away or threaten people with the loss of certain freedoms they previously enjoyed, unless they take the vaccine, many moral and ethical questions are raised. Sure, these mandates may make more sense to the masses if there wasn’t so much science and information that calls them into question, but when things are not as clear as we are being told they are, shouldn’t governments simply make recommendations? Is the push for vaccinating the entire population actually justified and scientifically sound? If it’s not, then why is there such a hard push for it? Is it really about our health? Or are there are there other agendas and conflicts of interests at play here? Why can’t freedom of choice remain for people who want to travel, attend sporting events and more? Do mandatory vaccine measures separate and divide society even more? Should people who want to take the shot and those who do not want to take the shot all unite as one to push for the freedom of choice?
